How can I stay for free?
Easy. Most of our guests prefer to give us a call at 1-719-539-6468 or 719-221-1012 or contact us by e-mail. We will expedite things from there. 50% payment is required to hold a week with 2 days free. See our reservations page.

Do you offer discounted ski/ride passes for Monarch Mountain? Absolutely. Through a contract with Monarch Mountain, we can offer regular season lift passes for reduced prices. 2010-11 Season prices will be listed when they come available to us.

What kind of weather should I expect at your mountain cabin?
Colorado weather means warm sunshine and exhilarating brisk air. You are in the Rockies at 8200 feet ; however, this part of the state is called the "banana belt," which means that temperatures are more moderate than what is typical for this altitude. Just 10 minutes up the road, you can be in powdery Rocky Mountain snow for 6 months of the year. 10 minutes down the road you can be fly fishing or golfing, yes, even in the winter time. Read about Salida's wonderful climate or get specific, by checking the forecast this week. Our cabin is about 5 degrees cooler than Salida.

How far do I have to go for Rocky Mountain . . .

. . . skiing or snowboarding? Just 10 easy-driving minutes!
. . . golfing? 8 miles, just west of Salida. Imagine the view on our local 9-hole course.
. . . biking? There are numerous bike trails nearby or step outside the
      cabin door. The cabin sits along CR #220, perfect for biking.
. . . whitewater rafting?10 miles. The Arkansas River is the
      West's best. We have numerous local rafting companies.
. . . hot springs bathing? There are 4 hot springs within
      30 minutes. The closest hot springs waters are at Salida's Community Pool, just 10 minutes away. All others are in the open air.

How do I know what dates are available?
Please visit our availability page. The calendar there will help you check for openings on your desired dates. Consider our "Two for Free" option. . . . Two nights are free!

How do I make reservations?
Most people prefer to give us a phone call (1-719-539-6468 home office or 719-221-1012, cell.) We accept Master Card and Visa. One night's lodging is due as a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. The balance of the payment will be due no later than 30 days prior to booking. However, i
f you are wanting to benefit from the "Two for Free" option, see details on our Reservations Page. Typically, a week books from Saturday to Saturday, however we try to be flexible.

When do we check in? . . . check out?
You can move in after 4:00 pm on the day of your arrival. You must check out by 11:00 am the day of your departure.

What is your policy on cancellations?
If you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, you will lose 50% of your total booking amount. This is a protection for us. Numerous times, we have had to turn away others who have desired to book the same time period. We appreciate your firmness on your decisions.

What is your damage policy?
A refundable damage deposit of $250 will be due 30 days prior to entry date. We trust you will care for our home. To date, all of our guests have been refunded their damage deposit in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the property, costs will be deducted from the $250. We will contact you if we have further concerns.

Do you allow smoking and pets?
No, we cannot. Some of our guests are allergic to cigarette smoke and animal dander. Any violation of this policy will enforce a $250 fine. With the ever-present drought conditions in Colorado, we cannot allow smoking inside of the cabin. If you are a smoker, you will definitely prefer to find other lodging, such as in a local motel's smoking accomodations. Thank you for understanding.
